7th Sea — aka Swashbuckling Adventures

Posted by Cynthia on September 2, 2009

“7th Sea”, later renamed “Swashbuckling Adventures” is just that–a role playing game in which all manner of “swashbuckling” shenanigans can save you from certain doom, when the roll of your gaming dice goes bad. Believe me, I have the worst dice luck in the world!!

As avid players of the game, my friend, Lisa, and I were lucky enough to get in on the writing of some of the role playing scenarios and the creation of several NPCs (non-playing characters).  But alas, she found the man of her dreams, moved to the Atlanta area and left me to attempt to swashbuckle in a land with no water, Arizona.

In addition to the “official” writing for Alderac Entertainment’s 7th Sea, we wrote, along with two other gamers from other states, a round-robbin novel using the characters we individually created for our local games. At some point, I will likely get out all those chapters and edit and post them–and maybe we will actually finish the story!!

In the meantime, you can read “Catterina’s Dance”, a short story I wrote introducing my characters and providing a glimpse into the world of magic and intrigue that is 7th Sea.
